Strange how hindsight can make us appear so much more intelligent (or foolish?!) than we are; how we can use the "I told you so" or the "I knew it all along" approach to give us a sense of superiority. It's similar to wishing we'd had the knowledge and wisdom of later life when we were young, unrealistic and ridiculous, because it's those mistakes and experiences of earlier life which have provided the knowledge and wisdom. In the same way, once we know the outcome of events, it's much easier to see what we did well or badly.
In reality, hindsight can create difficulties for us - if we overestimate our abilities to make the right decision because of it, we risk evaluating future situations incorrectly and having impossible expectations. Alternatively, we may be extremely harsh on ourselves for what we regard as our poor past judgement and prediction. If we can recognise when any of this is happening, we have a good chance of remain grounded and level-headed.
Learning from the past, from our poor or great choices, is invaluable, but don't be too critical or congratulatory for something which you could never really have known before it happened.
